WINE TASTING - WHERE DO WE STAND ?

On august 24 th we were invited to participate with our wines in the annual "Crushing Festival", an internal wine tasting event where the 12 red wines of this year which are being produced in Permasur Winery were compared in style and personality. Even though our Cabernet and Malbec were side by side with Argentina's top premium wines produced by Paul Hobbs, Michel Rolland, Santiago Achaval and Roberto de la Motta, we got good reviews by the enologists.

Some remarks from the participants on our wines (after 3 months in barrel):
  • intense fruit
  • sweet pleasant tannins
  • elegant oak
  • low in acidity

TESTING THE ANTI HAIL EQUIPMENT

After we had concluded the pruning of all our wine plants last week (some of them got frozen due to the harsh winter climate) we started testing the size and tension for installing the anti hail equipment. We are planing to cover the entire vineyard with this net to protect our grapes from the devastating hail, which is the biggest risk factor for vineyards in this part of the world.

RENOVATING the SECOND HOUSE

As we have hired another employee- Daniel, our tractorist, we have started to reconstruct the second house on our premises. This will be where not only Daniel with his family will live, but also include a small studio for my visits and overnight stays in Mendoza. Our architect Horacio is supervising the progress in construction works which should be concluded by end september

VINEYARDS COVERED WITH SNOW

For the third time this year strong snowfalls covered most of the vineyards in Mendoza. This picture was taken at a neighbouring vineyard in Lujan de Cuyo
